Welcome
John, Ali and staff welcome you to The Old Pound Inn at Aller. We are a traditional, friendly village Inn, with a good reputation for fine food, real ales and genuine hospitality.
The Old Pound Inn was a cider house, first built in 1571, and then in 1756. It was called the White Lion Public House. It was re-named The Old Pound Inn in 1980, as the Inn stands on the ground of the old village pound.
The village today has not changed much in 300 years except for some new houses blended in with the old. Aller is a typical Somerset village, small and friendly. Its population of approximately 350 living in idyllic surroundings, with Aller Hill to the East and Sedgemoor and the Somerset Levels to the North and West.
